Pet Licensing Information

dog idca card

Licensing is required for all dogs and cats over 6 months of age who live in Spokane County.  A pet license has many benefits to the owner, animal, and the community...

  • A licensed pet is one that can be returned to the owner- the license is the pet's phone call home.
  • Owners of licensed pets are eligible to receive a spay/neuter voucher-which is a dollars off coupon that helps pay for the cost of this procedure.  The vouchers are accepted by all local veterinary clinics.
  • The law requires that all dogs and cats be currently licensed.  Owners of unlicensed animals may receive a $200 fine.
  • Fees from licensing helps fund important animal protection services, adoption programs, and reduce the euthanasia of adoptable animals.

If you live in ...

Unincorporated Spokane County, City of Spokane Valley, Cheney, or Millwood you must license your pets through SCRAPS.
